The advantages of capacitive touch screen and resistive touch screen are big contrast

Recently, whether it is mobile phones, computers, and digital products, all are developing towards touch screens. The commonly used touch screens are nothing more than capacitive screens and resistive screens. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Capacitive screen:

The capacitive technology touch screen is a four-layer composite glass screen. The idea is excellent and simple, but the practical problems cannot be overcome.

The current transparent conductive material ITO-oxidized metal is very fragile and will be damaged after a few touches. It cannot be used directly as a working layer. A very thin layer of hard glass must be added from the outside.

This layer of glass is obviously non-conducting. DC conduction is not enough. Use high-frequency AC signals instead, relying on the coupling capacitor formed by human fingers (with thin glass) and the working surface to absorb an AC current. This is the capacitor The origin of the name of the screen "capacitance": it works by coupling capacitors.

Disadvantages:

1. Unstable. The method of coupling capacitor is directly affected by temperature, humidity, wetness of fingers, body weight, and dryness of the ground, and it is also greatly interfered by large-area external objects, resulting in unstable results.

2. The defective rate is higher than the resistive screen. The outermost layer of extremely thin glass has very good anti-scratch performance under normal conditions, but the process requires manufacturing under vacuum. This extremely thin layer of glass has a 5% probability of encountering products with holes.

3. The service life is generally shorter than that of resistive screens (3 years for resistive screens and 2 years for capacitive screens).

advantage:

Light transmittance and clarity are better than resistive screens.

Resistive screen:

The screen body of the resistive touch screen is a multi-layer composite film that fits well with the surface of the display. This film is made of a layer of organic film as the base layer, coated with a transparent conductive layer, and covered with a hardened and smooth surface. Scratch-resistant plastic layer, its inner surface is also coated with a transparent conductive layer, and there are many small (less than 0.0254mm) transparent isolation points between the two conductive layers to isolate them.

advantage:

1. The screen and control system are relatively cheap, and the sensitivity is very good. The working environment is completely isolated from the outside world, not afraid of dust and water vapor, and can adapt to various harsh environments. It can be touched with any object and has good stability.

2. The service life is relatively long.

Disadvantages:

1. Because the resistive touch screen requires a certain amount of pressure, it will easily cause the wear of the surface material and affect the normal service life of the product.

2. The sensitivity of the resistive touch screen is not easy to adjust, and the sensitivity is prone to be unbalanced. Point A is sensitive and point B is sluggish.

3. The resistive touch screen has weak ability to deal with interference and poor ability to prevent misoperation. Anything touched will cause action.
